⚠️ Content on this page covers topics including suicide and domestic abuse.
Thank you for visiting my website.
My mission is to provide consciously crafted, compassionate education for adult learning environments, particularly for women – Helping You Sparkle™ again.
I use my skills, training and decades of public, private and third sector experience to offer insights in a range of formats, including courses, articles, videos and speaking events.
I also volunteer my time to raise awareness of a cause close to my heart, having spoken, worked with and supported women subjected to, and families bereaved by, male violence.
I am the creator of The She Course: Healing for Her™ and founder of If We Act™: a pacifist website and movement promoting courageous conversations, connected communities and compassionate action.
You can read more about this – and me – below.
I started my therapeutic career more than two decades ago, working with the bereaved, including supporting people at Coroner’s Court.
Today, I talk about the impact of trauma, and the importance of self-compassion focused activities and rest rituals. I also highlight causal factors of stress and burnout, including unhealthy workplace culture and shallow wellness practices.
I am trained in a philosophy of well-being that believes in human potential, and teach based on a model that promotes safety and choice.
As an integrative and trauma-informed educator, I focus on a holistic view of well-being. I include in this work the dimension of spiritual health, as a mechanism for healing, recognising how difficulty – and wisdom – can show up in our dreams and sleep.
My media appearances include BBC radio and ITV’s ‘Loose Women’. I am also the author of Answers In The Dark: Grief, Sleep and How Dreams Can Help You Heal.
Audiences have included police officers, nurses and paramedics, as well as international, corporate clients. I also take part in speaking engagements and media appearances on my specialist topics.
I have developed my own 12-week course: ‘The She Course: Healing for Her™”, for women who have been subjected to male violence, with a focus on domestic abuse. I am also a trained facilitator for the Own My Life course, created by Natalie Collins. I am accredited to support and have worked with victims of crime, including those escaping domestic abuse. In my spare time volunteer as an independent advisor to policing (unpaid, by choice), discussing these and related topics.
My approach to these conversations leans on different types of feminist theory, influenced by writers like bell hooks, Starhawk and Andrea Dworkin.
I am also the founder of If We Act, a pacifist movement that promotes upstandership, community cohesion, compassionate action and professional curiosity, while challenging unhelpful myths, harmful narratives and offering food for thought to create meaningful change.

Book(s)
I am the author of Answers In The Dark: Grief, Sleep and How Dreams Can Help You Heal. The book aims to join the dots between our sleep, dreams and our mental health, specifically how grief shows up even if no one has died. It explores some of the big myths of sleep, offers a Sleep Cycle Repair Kit and some tips on how to decode your own dreams.
Qualifications and Training
My qualifications are in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB), Delivering Adult Learning (City & Guilds) and Management & Leadership (CMI).
Additional training includes trauma informed practice, and time spent with the National Homicide Service, Victim Support and Women’s Aid.
I am also authentically trained in mindfulness, advocating Buddhist philosophy as one option for managing a busy mind, while working in a trauma-sensitive way.
I ensure I engage with continuing professional development throughout the year.
Spirituality
My work is influenced by humanistic thinkers like Carl Rogers, Abraham Maslow and others of their era, alongside Buddhist philosophy and researched insights on spiritual intelligence. This creates dialogue about recognising the value of meaning, authenticity, self-awareness, spirituality, compassionate social action and self-transcendence as keys to well-being; not only can we achieve what Maslow described (in Toward a Psychology of Being) as “full-humanness”, but recognise that our potential is limitless.
As I describe in Answers In The Dark, I was raised in a spiritualist household where we talked about dreams around the breakfast table, so it’s been natural for me to include and welcome these discussions in my professional life. I value the teachings and philosophy of the Buddha and appreciate the pacifist values held by Quakers. I also have an interest in feminist theology (thealogy).
“With Delphi’s help, I have a new perspective on life and the strength to face new and challenging things in a positive way.” B.
Charity Work
I offer my time in a number of ways to services in the public and third sector. This includes volunteering for a local emergency response team, providing emotional support in the event of a major incident and has included rescues from human slavery.
I also volunteer my time supporting policing as an independent (unpaid) advisor, informed by my work, particularly with those bereaved by domestic abuse and male violence. The national domestic abuse helpline in the U.K. is 0808 2000 247.
In my spare time, I work for a charity that provides an award winning transport service for patients with cancer, travelling to hospital for their treatment.

Later, I led a peer mentoring service for three years with a well-known mental health charity, offering relevant training to volunteers and helping establish the goals of those using the service.
During the pandemic I also ran a bereavement peer support group in my spare time, for grieving people and set up an account called ‘A Grief Note™’ offering people insights.
